Connexions

Connexions is a combination of a learning object repository and a course development tool. Geneva Henry presented it at the Learning Repository Summit. Technically, the development is based on plone and CVS for versioning. Support is integrated for one type of creative commons license. One of the main challenges? Mathematical formulae! They are using MathML, but it remains a heavy technology… The software will be released in open source in December. At the moment, there is no support for external repositories, nor has the design clearly separated content development, repository functionality, or deployment of courses, but this is on the to-do-list.
