Replace “web page” with “learning object” in “Getting online is the easy part, finding a useful Web page is a bit harder—keeping track of a useful Web page is another issue altogether.” and bingo! Did I hear someone say RSS? Seems like one solution to keeping found things found

The project is called PAIN for “personal anticipation of information need” and also adresses what the researchers call information fragmentation. “People often have the information required to complete a task scattered across e-mail, files, contact information, Web references and other types of information—each with its own distinct organization. The team is pursuing a patent for techniques and tools to bring together the various types of information into a “My Life” personal taxonomy that helps, rather than hinders, efforts to complete the task at hand.” Metadata, anyone?
