A man. A scan.

Yesterday, I had a PET CT scan. I’m happy to report that the result was perfect. No sign of enemy activity. Bit of a relief…
I am still pretty weak, so the plan has changed a bit: the current plan is to stay at home a bit longer and enter the hospital early January for my stem cell transplant. This has the nice side effect that it looks like I will be at home with the family for the end of year period!
Meanwhile, if you want to know what makes me smile these days: have a look at “Bread and a dog” (perfect holiday gift…).

Hi Erik, nice to hear about the clean scan! And thanks for posting the gift idea: my sister is a veterinarian -> likes & cures dogs -> will be happy with this book. 🙂 Enjoy the kitsch and ambiance of the festive season!

O.K. foodlover, but I don’t like dogs at all :-). Goed tot zover Erik. Geniet van de tijd thuis ook al ben je een beetje zwakjes. Aansterken en dan weer verder. Heel veel sterkte en fijne tijd de komende weken.

That’s excellent news! All the very best for gathering your strength with your family, and the transplant in the new year.

Mentioning PET CT scans and dogs in the same post reminded me of one of the early meme web pages which featured ‘cat scans’: photos people had submitted of their pet cat sitting on their document scanner.

    Hey Erik
this is great news – and good to know you will be ready for stem cell work in January. Coincidentally a friend of mine is currently donating stem cells anonymously to a bloke with not dissimilar challenges – its good to see both sides of this fantastic procedure. Happy Christmas
